How to Turn Your AirTrack Into a Slip and Slide

Nothing says summer like backyard water fun! Running through the sprinklers, throwing water balloons, or even the iconic Slip ‘N Slide. From children to adults, all ages can enjoy cooling off by diving headfirst down a long slippery slide.

The thrill and excitement for the whole family is actually easier to create than you may think. Just pull out your AirTrack and let the fun begin! Did you know your airtight gymnastics inflatable mat is also waterproof making it the perfect slip n slide for your backyard?

Unlike store-bought slip n slides that tear easily, each AirTrack is hand glued using durable double wall fabric and reinforced seams. Meaning your mat is ready to party!

In just 3 easy steps, we’ll show you how to transform your AirTrack into a homemade slip-and-slide.

What Supplies You’ll Need to Make Your Slip and Slide:

Home AirTrack (20 ft will give you more slide for your slip)

-Garden hose or lawn sprinklers

1. Find the Perfect Spot for Your AirTrack Slip and Slide

When bringing your AirTrack outside, it’s always a good idea to clear the surrounding area of any rocks or sharp objects. A large grass area is ideal for your fun in the sun, but keep in mind, any hills or slopes will increase your momentum and direct sunlight will make the AirTrack hot until it’s sprayed with cool water.

2. Stick the Landing

Like a gymnast visualizing her routine, be sure to position your mat for a safe landing. Avoid sliding off your mat into trees, plants, or garden gnomes. For extra fun, position your AirTrack at the edge of your pool and slide right into the water.

3. Add the Slip to Your AirTrack Slide

Now the fun begins! Using your garden hose, thoroughly soak your air track from the top of the slide to the bottom. To increase the slickness of your mat, use a small amount of dish soap or baby shampoo. Baby shampoo is strongly preferred as it’s gentle on the eyes, unlike dish soap. For those extra hot days, run your lawn sprinklers to create a misty tunnel that rains down on every slider.

AirTrack Safety

Now your AirTrack is prepped, positioned, and ready for a full day of play. Whether you’re planning a backyard BBQ or a family cookout, cooling off with your AirTrack slip and slide is an absolute must. Just remember to take extra caution when your AirTrack is wet. Tumbling on a slick surface is extremely dangerous and can lead to injury. Always have a parent or guardian present to monitor all activity.

When you’re ready to call it a day, be sure your AirTrack is completely dried off before deflating and folding up your mat. Don’t forget to share the memories you made with your family on social by tagging @airtrack_official for your chance to be featured.
